There are many popular toning exercises that can be done without weights. This article will go over a few different types of these exercises, and what parts of the body can be toned without using weights.
Men and women target different areas for muscle toning. Usually, women wish to tone the abdomen. Men may wish to do this, too, but they are not as technical about it as women are. Women hope to keep the size of their bosom and buttocks, but this is not possible when toning the abs, as there will be some weight loss and some of the buttocks or the bosom will lose weight, too. There is a way to tone the stomach muscles and have some solid, tight abs, though, without using weights.
Many people believe that toning exercises without weights will not tone muscles, but it is possible to have great toning results with some of the following exercises. There are some for men and for women. There are also some great videos out there for toning exercises without using weights, too. The great star Madonna proves this video works on toning the arms and legs. The name of the video is Get Madonna Arms.
This first one is for women, but men are more than welcome to do this same routine. This exercise routing will work on the abs, hips, thighs, and the arms.
Get out a comfortable exercise mat and lie flat on the back. Relax the whole body. This one will begin with one leg at a time. Lift the leg up to a comfortable height, without straining, and make circles in the air with that leg. Do a few circles and then lift the shoulders up a bit and bring the leg up as far as possible and grip it with both hands, around the ankles, and hold for a few seconds. The buttocks should rise off the mat a bit as the leg is stretched up and held by both hands.
Try to keep the other leg on the mat and as straight as possible. After a few seconds, let that leg down, bending it as it relaxes its way back down to the mat. Repeat this exercise with the other leg. Do this same one about 10 times each. A lot of people play some music on their stereos while they do exercises, as it helps to relax and also adds some spice to this time of the day. N some of the reps for this exercise, one can try to do the leg circles in different directions, clockwise and counterclockwise.
This next exercise is a little tougher and will require some balance control. Sit on the mat and pull both legs up, bending the knees, and hugs the knees into the bosom. For this one, the body will be balancing on the buttocks, kind of like a make believe rocking chair. The feet cannot touch the mat. One can hug the ankles instead of the knees if it is more comfortable. Balance on the buttocks for a few seconds. Next, this one will work on the abs and it will massage the spinal area of the back.
Still seated on the mat, on the buttocks, pull both feet in and hug the legs as was done with the rocking, only this time the heels will be tucked against the buttocks. Bend the head and neck down and tuck the chin into the bosom, as low as comfortable. Try not to pull fast or bounce, as to avoid straining lower back muscles. While holding onto the legs with both hands, hugging them, and the feet not touching the mat, allow the body to roll backwards onto the back and then roll back up to the balancing on the buttocks position. Remember good posture where the shoulders are concerned. Keep the shoulders even and down as this rolling exercise is done.
There are other ways to tone body muscles, too. For people who love to do work like buffing floors, believe this or not, buffing floors for a few hours each day can help to tone many parts of the body. Along with buffing floors for a few hours each day, if someone did a one hour aerobic workout each day, this would really tone many parts of the body. These two exercise routines will also offer great cardiovascular workouts, which can improve anyone’s general health and sleep patterns.
The best time to exercise is in the morning and early afternoon. Energy breeds energy, so it makes sense that someone would want to do exercise routines during the day and not right before they are planning to retire for the evening. Usually, if someone exercises right before their scheduled bedtime, it will take them longer to fall asleep.
