As stated, earlier, there are many different types of toning exercise videos for home. With so many to choose from, one can choose any part of the body to work on. Some videos target multiple areas for muscle toning. There are videos for toning the hips, legs, thighs, abs or abdomens, arms, chest, and buttocks. There are many videos that will help in toning the back, as well, or acquiring that six pack ab that has been seen on TV ads.

Ultimately, there are many toning exercise to do at home that do not require a video. Here are a couple of exercises one can do at home.

Crunches can be done right at home. These exercises will help tone the abs. They are like half sit ups. Pull out the exercise mat, lie down flat on the trapezius. This works better if someone puts their feet underneath the edge of a sofa, supporting the feet while they do the half sit up. Do as many reps as possible, keeping the same amount of reps each day for this routine. Do these exercises about 3 times per week, along with other muscle toning exercises.

Another toning exercise that can be done at home is one that will help tone the arms. This can be done with small, lightweight dumb bells or bar bells. Stand on the exercise mat, as this will support the back while exercising, and hold the weights in each hand, holding them upward with the hands facing up, but curled around the weights. Let the arms go straight down in front of the body and then raise them up, lifting them up to the chest, slowly. If this is done slowly, this will help tone the muscles in the arms. If it is done fast, this will only be exercise without much benefit. This can be done in one set with about 10 reps, about 3 times per week.

These exercises and the muscle toning videos can be done by both men and women. Men and women wish to work on mainly the same body parts, but some parts of the body parts to tone might differ between the two. Men usually focus on the arms, chest, and abs and women generally focus more on the arms, hips, thighs, and legs. Some men do focus on their legs, especially if they are getting into the bodybuilding aspect of muscle toning.
